Building Adventures
The Seed
TimepassAuburn was conceived by Eric Ranft after visits to other escape rooms in both Seattle and Florida. Although he was at times underwhelmed, Eric’s imagination was captured by the idea of providing play along adventures. Where some people only saw puzzles, Ranft saw stories moved along by players, through solving challenges.
The Marinating
At first it was a back of the mind notion, but the creative founder, Eric Ranft, found such satisfaction in designing ways to tell stories via the live puzzles in escape rooms, that he took the plunge and jumped into the business.
The name ‘Timepass’
The name Timepass is used often in India as a concept explained by comedian Kana Gil in this bit. Amused by his love of absurd language and easter eggs, ‘Timepass’ was a no brainer for Ranft to select as the corporate name.
The Venue
After a long search for a suitable venue, the current spot at the edge of Auburn Washington’s downtown district was selected and TimepassAuburn was officially born.
The Mission
Bolstered by a team of excellent prop builders, TimepassAuburn expects to offer a new escape room theme every 6 months.
